Open Tuesday Programme Summer 2026

Open Tuesday has been going for over 15 years. It is free to attend. Anyone – users of our premises, friends, residents of South Manchester come together and socialise.  The programme includes talks, discussion, films and chatting over tea, coffee and biscuits. Our year is divided into three terms and we show about seven films a term. We are restricted by the Church’s CCLI licence as to which films we can show but recent films have included The Red Shoes, Lady Macbeth, Dr Strangelove, Bicycle Thieves, Paths of Glory and Buddha Collapsed Out Of Shame.

We have listened to and questioned a new nurse, a long-serving midwife, and looked at Shakespeare’s seven ages together with five phases of our brain structure. Amongst our in-house productions have been discussions on assisted dying, AI, books and book burning, sessions on books for your Desert Island, mending old clothes, and drumming and drummers (our neighbours in the Large Hall on Tuesday evenings). The programmes are varied. The company is good. Refreshments are provided. It’s free. Bring your neighbours!
